PU V-belts are available in the classic Z, A, B, C and D models, as well as other sizes. Some belts can also be supplied in parallel versions, where two belts are joined together. The big advantage of PU V-belts is that they are available in whatever length is desired. As standard, these (finite) belts come in 30, 50 or 100 m rolls, and can then be cut and/or welded to the required length with relative ease. PU V-belts are often used in the internal transport of goods, for example to move a semi-finished product or a finished product to a different location within the production process.

PU V-belts have a smooth, matt or rough surface structure and are available in numerous different models. The specific belt choice depends above all on the product to be transported, the desired tensile strength and the ambient conditions. Accordingly, belts can be supplied with different degrees of hardness (specified in shore units, Sh A) and with different friction coefficients.

Belts are also available with a tension cord, mostly made from aramid or polyester. Such belts have higher tensile strength and are less prone to elongation. Models with a rear coating made from PVC, rubber or another material are also available. This coating usually results in a higher friction coefficient, creating better adhesion between the belt and the product to be carried. There are a number of different options available, with the most common being the supergrip coating. It is even possible to equip the bands’ transport side with cleats or a brush.

These belts can be welded together quite easily with the appropriate tools such as cutting pliers, a welding clamp and welding tongs. Should a large power surge occur, there is a danger that the belt will slacken. In such cases, a plastic support profile can be used, and if necessary, strengthened by a steel or stainless steel profile. You can find all of these tools and aids in the "Tools and accessories" category, in the "Weldable belts" product group.

PU V-belts can be found wherever internal transport is required, e.g. in the food and pharmaceutical industries, the (petro)chemical industry, mechanical engineering, and in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

From a hygiene point of view, it is particularly important in the food and pharmaceutical industries that the products used meet FDA guidelines. In these industries the European regulation EC1935/2004 is also of importance.
