Weldable Belts (149 products containing 798 Items)

Weldable belts are often used in the internal transport of goods, for example to move a semi-finished product or a finished product to a different location within the production process. These belts are made of polyurethane (PU) and can be divided into round belts and V-belts.
The big advantage of this belt is that it is available in whatever length is desired. As standard, these (finite) belts come in 30, 50 or 100 m rolls, and can then be cut and welded to the required length with relative ease.
The round belts are available in diameters from 2 mm to 20 mm, and the V-belts in the familiar types Z, A, B, C and D, as well as in other dimensions. Some belts can also be supplied in parallel versions, where two belts are joined together.

Belts can be welded to order in either small or large batches, or you may weld them yourself. These belts can be welded together quite easily with the appropriate tools such as cutting pliers, a welding clamp and welding tongs. Many more additional tools are available which will assist in cutting and welding the belts. Hollow round belts are also an option. These do not have to be welded, instead their ends are fastened together using connectors.

Weldable belts have a smooth, matt or rough surface structure and are available in numerous different versions. The specific belt choice depends above all on the product to be transported, the desired tensile strength and the ambient conditions. Accordingly, belts can be supplied with different degrees of hardness (specified in shore units, Sh A) and with different friction coefficients.

Belts are also available with a tension member, mostly made from aramid or polyester. Such belts have higher tensile strength and are less prone to elongation. V-belts may also be equipped with a cover made from PVC, rubber or another material. This coating usually results in a higher friction coefficient, creating better adhesion between the belt and the product to be carried. The most common is the supergrip coating, but there are a number of different options here too. It is even possible to outfit the bands’ transport side with cleats or a brush.

Should a large power surge occur, there is a danger that the belt will slacken. In such cases, a plastic support profile can be used, and if necessary, strengthened by a steel or stainless steel profile.

Weldable belts are to be found everywhere internal transport is required, e.g. in the food and pharmaceutical industries, in (petro)chemicals and mechanical engineering, in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

From a hygiene point of view, it is particularly important in the food and pharmaceutical industries that the products used meet FDA guidelines. In these industries the European regulation EC1935/2004 is also of importance.

Dear visitor,

How is ERIKS handling the recent developments regarding COVID-19?
The new coronavirus is currently expanding. ERIKS has taken all necessary precautions to protect its employees. The shipment of products ordered on our webshop proceeds as usual.

Which measures has ERIKS taken?

  • ERIKS employees practise the current hygiene instructions as set by the RIVM (including social distancing of 1.5m);
  • All employees essentially work from home, excepting our Logistics department;
  • Picking up your orders from ERIKS locations is no longer possible.

Impact on delivery
Currently the spread of COVID-19 is not affecting the delivery performance of ERIKS. Orders are both handled and shipped normally*. We keep in close contact with suppliers who have production sites in areas struck by COVID-19. When necessary, we will seek alternatives to guarantee our deliveries as well as possible. Generally speaking, our stock is sufficient. However, because the situation in the affected areas can change at any moment the status regarding our delivery remains a snapshot of the current situation.

** Exceptions to this are facemasks, overalls, disinfectants and related hygiene products. Unfortunately, due to a worldwide shortage these products are currently unavailable.
