You can use this black Kalrez® O-ring as a seal for chemicals, steam and oils at high pressure. This product is the newer version of Compound 4079. It offers high temperature resistance and is resistant to a broad range of chemicals. You find this O-ring in static applications and slow, dynamic applications.

Application

Temperature resistance
Compound 7075 has the highest temperature resistance of all Kalrez® O-rings (from -18°C to +327°C). This seal has been specially developed for applications involving a combination of high temperatures and strong chemicals. In addition, this material is suitable for large temperature fluctuations.

Maximum pressure
This O-ring has a Shore A hardness of 75. As a result, it is suitable for applications with a pressure of up to 80 bars. Furthermore, the guidelines in the chart below must be adhered to. This chart shows the relationship between pressure, hardness and the dimensions of the seal clearance gap and the groove.

Are you going to use this material in a slow, dynamic application with a pressure of 50 bars or higher? If so, we advise you to use back-up rings.

Chemical resistance
This FFKM O-ring offers a good resistance to many chemicals, such as acids, amines and solvents. This material is suitable for applications involving steam. Compound 6375 does not offer the same resistance to high temperatures, but has a higher chemical resistance. So that compound is sometimes a better choice, depending on the temperature and chemicals involved in your application.
