This black NBR O-ring from ERIKS is suitable for use as a seal in high-pressure applications involving hydraulic oils and lubricating oils. This material is widely used in hydraulic systems.

Application

Temperature resistance
This hydraulic seal has an operating temperature range of -30°C to +120°C.

Maximum pressure
Compound 47702 has a Shore A hardness of 90. In static applications, you use this O-ring at a pressure of 70 bars or higher. We advise you to purchase additional back-up rings from ERIKS to prevent seal extrusion. You should also adhere to the guidelines in the chart below. This table shows the relationship between pressure, hardness and the dimensions of the groove and the seal clearance gap.

Are you going to use this O-ring in a slow, dynamic application with a pressure of 50 bars or higher? If so, you are advised to use back-up rings.

Chemical resistance
Nitrile rubber is suitable for most applications involving greases and oils. It is not resistant to UV radiation or ozone. Furthermore, it does not tolerate some organic oils or greases well, and should not be used for high-temperature applications. In such cases, an FKM, FFKM or HNBR O-ring is a better choice (depending on the application).
