Spherical roller bearings have two rows of rollers, a common sphered outer ring raceway and two inner ring raceways inclined at an angle to the bearing axis. The centre point of the sphere in the outer ring raceway is at the bearing axis. Therefore, the bearings are self-aligning and insensitive to misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing, which can be caused, for example, by shaft deflection. Spherical roller bearings are designed to accommodate heavy radial loads, as well as heavy axial loads in both directions.

Spherical roller bearings with Solid Oil
Solid Oil bearings are designed for relubrication-free operation and are ideal for use in applications where high levels of moisture and incidental contact with water and other contaminants are real issues. These bearings are lubricated with oil encapsulated in a polymer. During operation, the oil is continuously released to lubricate the bearing. Bearings with Solid Oil are lubricated for the life of the bearing and cannot be relubricated. Solid Oil bearings may operate in temperatures of up to 85°C and at moderate speeds.
