Rod ends are mounted in housings on the end of hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders and linear actuators. Different types of rod ends are available: these types are the rod ends with an internal/external thread or a welded pin for mounting. The hydraulic rod ends are split horizontally and have two or four mounting bolt holes as standard. They absorb radial forces in a pulling or pushing direction and transfer movements and forces without any torque. They are suitable for fluctuating radial loads; in some cases, they are also suitable for unilateral loads.
