Tensioning ring bearings are deep groove ball bearings, from series 62 and 63, which are sealed on both sides. Tensioning ring bearings often have a convex outside diameter on the outer ring that is extended on one or both sides. However, this does not apply to two specific series. Prior to installation, suitable housings are assembled to form bearing units. This can compensate for initial misalignment. Thanks to the characteristics of these bearings and bearing units, tensioning ring bearings are assembled on units. Such applications included in agricultural machinery, construction machines, conveyor systems, textile machines and machines for the food industry.

The bearing units are available in many different versions as a vertical bearing block, flange bearing block or clamping bearing unit. The units are ready for assembly and consist of housings made from cast iron or sheet steel into which the Y-bearings or clamping bearings are integrated. In order to ensure correct functioning under all operating conditions, bearings and bearing housings are matched with each other.

Due to the spherical shell of the bearing outer ring and the concave structure, the ball-shaped bore of the bearing housing can set itself lower to compensate for static misalignments. The units are normally used as fixed bearings, but in the case of low loads and speeds, they are also suitable as floating bearings. The housing units can be attached to the connecting construction with screws. There are no high requirements for the mounting surfaces.

Dear visitor,

How is ERIKS handling the recent developments regarding COVID-19?
The new coronavirus is currently expanding. ERIKS has taken all necessary precautions to protect its employees. The shipment of products ordered on our webshop proceeds as usual.

Which measures has ERIKS taken?

  • ERIKS employees practise the current hygiene instructions as set by the RIVM (including social distancing of 1.5m);
  • All employees essentially work from home, excepting our Logistics department;
  • Picking up your orders from ERIKS locations is no longer possible.

Impact on delivery
Currently the spread of COVID-19 is not affecting the delivery performance of ERIKS. Orders are both handled and shipped normally*. We keep in close contact with suppliers who have production sites in areas struck by COVID-19. When necessary, we will seek alternatives to guarantee our deliveries as well as possible. Generally speaking, our stock is sufficient. However, because the situation in the affected areas can change at any moment the status regarding our delivery remains a snapshot of the current situation.

** Exceptions to this are facemasks, overalls, disinfectants and related hygiene products. Unfortunately, due to a worldwide shortage these products are currently unavailable.
